A good friend and Professor in art history Ronald de Leeuw is retiring from his job as director of the Rijksmuseum, the most important and well known museum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since many of my readers are from the United States of America this news might be of importance. Professor Ronald de Leeuw was the director of the Rijksmuseum for 11 years, before that he was the director of the Van Gogh Museum also in Amsterdam.
Renovation
The Rijksmuseum is undergoing a massive renovation. The renovation will probably be finished by 2010. The renovation started in 2003. A small sample of the collection can be seen during the renovation, other objects can be seen in 11 other museums in The Netherlands.
